When can I join?

Recruitment starts in the beginning of the fall semester each year. During this period we hold multiple events to get to know potential candidates and to give an opportunity for potential candidates to get to know us. While it is strongly encouraged that you start the candidate process as a first year, you can still join in the subsequent years of your degree.

What is the process involved in becoming a member?

As mentioned above, there are multiple events we host as part of the initial getting to know you stage. The more events you attend the better your chances of meeting the majority of our current actives and talking to them in different settings. This period of open events and meetings lasts for about a month and ends with Candidate Initiation. At Candidate Initiation the potential candidate can make the decision to start on the journey to becoming a full member.

After the Candidate Initiation, there is a Candidate Class (Candi Class for short) comprised of women who have made a decision to learn more about Alpha Omega Epsilon: our ideals and objectives, our members and our traditions. During this time the Candi will spend time in a one-on-one basis with other members of the sorority. The Candi will also fulfill other requirements on the road to becoming a full member. This period lasts for a few months and requires more commitment than the potential candidate stage.

At the end of your candidate period, you will have learned what it means to be part of Alpha Omega Epsilon. For the Candidates that fulfill their requirements and still wish to join, there is another ceremony to welcome you as a full member of the Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority. Once a member, you are in for life.

Recruitment Events for Fall 2011

Recruitment for Fall 2011 is now closed. Please check back next year in September 2012 for the events for that year.

So how can I join?

Attend Recruitment events in order to meet other members and show an interest in joining. We also want to get to know you and extend you an invitation to join us. The Open Meetings are a great way to see how we operate as a sorority and meet the other girls who will be a part of your candi class.
